Description: Friends of Creamer’s Field (FOCF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge through environmental education, interpretation, community engagement, and stewardship. FOCF works to connect people of all ages to the natural and historic resources of this unique urban refuge in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Friends of Creamer’s Field is seeking a creative and organized Program & Events Coordinator to help bring environmental education and community programs to life at Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge in Fairbanks. This public-facing role supports educational programs, special events, volunteer engagement, and outreach while working closely with the Executive Director. Ideal candidates enjoy working with people, value environmental education, and are comfortable in an outdoor setting.

Camp Habitat Assistant Director

Description: Camp Habitat is a nature education and ecology day camp for youth ages 4-11. There are five (5) camp sessions that run in June and July. The Camp Habitat Assistant Director’s primary responsibility is to oversee the day-to-day camp operations and supervise camp staff. This position reports directly to the Camp Habitat Director.

Camp Habitat Instructor

Salary: Starting at $17/hour.

Description: Camp Habitat is a youth nature education and ecology camp located at Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge in Fairbanks. Instructors are responsible for the complete curriculum planning, leadership, and supervision for one group of 8-12 children per week. Groups range in age from 4 - 5 (pre-school) and 6 - 11 years old (day camp). Instructors develop, organize, and implement developmentally appropriate, fun, and educational activities to facilitate children’s exploration and discovery of nature.

Camp Habitat Counselor

Salary: Starting at $14/hour.

Counselors are responsible for the daily setup/take-down of camp, prep work for lessons, leadership, and supervision with an instructor for one group of approximately 8-10 children per week. Groups range in age from 4 - 5 (pre-school) and 6 - 11 years old (day camp). Counselors help instructors organize and implement developmentally appropriate, fun, and educational activities to facilitate children’s exploration and discovery of nature.
